| Batley were our guests tonight in our 50-50 Competition.The programme was as follows - " No Problem", "A Day at Carlisle Castle", "Hadrian's Wall", "Papy", "Hurricane Holiday", "Georgetown and the loop", The Magic Drink" and Castleford Ladies. Matthew Pells from the BBC Bradford Office was also there to tell us about the "Big Screen" in Centenary Square and how the club may benefit. The club also got five new members tonight - Harry & Mary Nichols, Ian & Judith Simpson and Andrew Cockerill who are all members of Leeds MovieMakers. |

| Tonight was the Edit in Camera Competition when members saw the results of their filming at Oakwell Hall on 10th July 2006. It was also the Five Minute Competition. Both of these were judged this evening. The Edit in Camera winner was Peter Jones with his film of Wycoller and the Five Minute winner was Colin & Ian Egglestone's film of wartime Britain. |

| Tonight we were hoping for a good turn out at Oakwell Hall near Batley when all were asked to make a film of the evening and hand in their unedited results to be shown later in the year. It was a nice evening but we couldn't find Martyn, our President, at 7.30pm so Ken Lightowler opened the filming at 7.45pm and we video filmed away until Ken closed the evening at 10pm. |

| The club met to view Alan Vanston's film of last week's walk at Fulneck. It was excellent. The club members were also shown how to set up the projection equipment during Peter & Jackie's holdays. The evening ended with a film of the regeneration of Bradford and Pedro's delightful film of Kiri Ti Kanawa making a CD of "South Pacific". |

| A treat for all our members as good friends Ken & Carol Wilson entertained us with more of their Phase 4 films. They showed clips from their compilation of advice from other clubs, which was very enlightening. Steve Walker from our club filled in with his clever "The Morality Game" before Ken Wilson topped off the evening with a well crafted comedy film "Sinking". A very entertaining evening. |

David Marshall brought the pies and peas and the Secretary, Jackie, provided the quiz which was won by Norma Webster. Maurice showed "The Plank" from the 70's which everyone enjoyed. |

| Batley Cine Club were at our Club tonight as they took on Bradford in this challenge match. Jim Kenworthy was the judge. Some outstanding films were shown and there were gliches on a couple of films but Bradford became the winners with a 9 - 3 victory. |

| Martin Sunderland entertained his fellow members with a Practical evening of his choosing.
A few weeks ago he gave interested members a copy of a video he made of his visit to Italy. He asked each one to edit from the 45 minute original a presentation or trailer lasting just a few minutes. Tonight the results were shown and discussed. The films were astonishing. 9 members entered and each one had a completely different slant on the others.
Martin has been asked to put forward another Practical Evening for the next syllabus. |

| Tonight was our Annual Dinner. Again it was held at the Masonic Lodge in Bradford. The winner of the Annual Competition was announced and Trophies distributed to other prize winners.
The Winner of the Annual Competition was Jim Walker from Laycock with his fiction film "The Chair". Well done Jim.
The winner of the whisky bottle competition was Dave Marshall with his first throw.

| Huddersfield visited our club tonight for the Challenge Match, Huddersfield v Bradford. The judge was John Orrell from Mercury Movies.
The victors were Huddersfield winning the Documentary and Free Choice categories. Bradford won the Holiday section. A good evening of excellent films. |
